William Scott Budge

William’s parents are William Budge and Julia Stratford, both born in England. They came across the ocean to America with 2 children.

Crossing the plains, William’s father was Captain of the William Budge Wagon Company which left from Florence Nebraska July 20, 1860.

18 month old William Scott passed away almost a month after they left. There was no information found as to the cause of his death. Little William is buried by the Platte River in Nebraska.

William's younger sister Alta said of his passing:

“the passing away of the little child of my father and his wife, who had been ill almost continuously since they left England”.
