William's Story

William Henry Coldiron was born to William Coldiron and Susan Emeline Dameron, both from Tennessee. The family was living in Texas where they joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They joined the Homer Duncan Company to journey from Texas to Utah. They began the trek, along with several other Coldiron Saints, beginning in May 1857.
While on the journey, William's father William was bitten by a poisonous snake and passed away. He was wrapped in a sheet and buried somewhere on the plains of Missouri. One month later, 6-year-old William Henry Harrison passed away. There is no known cause of death. He is buried somewhere on the Mormon Trail West.
