Death: August 3rd, 1868 | 3 years old | in Nebraska

William is the son of George Philip Mallet and Jane Lucas from the Channel Islands. The Mallet family boarded the ship “Colorado” and sailed to America. They traveled by train to Nebraska where they joined the Simpson M. Molen Company. Along with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they left for the Utah Territory on August 12, 1868.
When the family was in the Nebraska waiting to begin their journey, 3-year-old William Charles passed away. The cause of death and where he is buried in Nebraska is unknown. Company journals indicate that a child on the company roster passed away before the Company departed for the west. That child was likely William.
