Thomas John's parents are Benjamin Isaac Sr. and Phoebe Davis, both from Wales.
After the Isaac's left Wales to come to America, they landed on the shores of Pennsylvania. That is where Phoebe gave birth to their sixth child out of ten, Thomas.
After the birth, they traveled to Nebraska and joined the John Smith Company to come west to the Salt Lake Valley. The company left Nebraska on June 22, 1860.
When the company was somewhere in Wyoming, little Thomas John passed away.
He is buried along the Mormon Trail in Wyoming.
Granddaughter of Phoebe records:
“Grandmother Isaac has told me many times how she walked all day carrying her baby, and when they were just two weeks from their journeys end, her little son died and was buried by the wayside, being nearly four months old, as they had been nearly 3 ½ months on the plains.”
