Sarah’s parents were Milan Lucian Fillmore and Elizabeth Sanborn who were both from New York.
To join the Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, they traveled to Iowa and joined the John Smith Company to travel west. They left Iowa on June 22, 1860. They brought two children with them and Elizabeth was expecting another child on the journey west.
On the 31 of July, when the company was at Fort Laramie in Wyoming, she gave birth to another daughter, Sarah. Little Sarah lived only three weeks and passed away near Sweetwater, Wyoming.
There was no information from parents, nor in company records, found as to what Sarah passed away from nor where she is buried.
