Sarah Fillmore was born to Milan Lucian Fillmore and Elizabeth Sanborn, both from New York.
Milan and Elizabeth with their two children traveled to Iowa and joined the John Smith Company. They left Iowa on June 22, 1860 to journey to the Salt Lake Valley. Elizabeth, expecting another child, gave birth to another daughter. Baby Sarah lived only weeks and passed away near Sweetwater, Wyoming.
It is unknown why Sarah passed away or where she is buried.
