Sarah Ann Williams is the daughter of Daniel Popple Williams and Sarah Ann Wesson, both from England. The Williams family immigrated to America and then traveled to Nebraska to join the John Murdock Company with a desire to cross the plains to the Salt Lake Valley.

While in Wyoming, 6-year-old Sarah Ann went to bed one night feeling well. However, the next morning she complained to her mother that she was “feeling hot and hurt all over.” Mountain fever and measles had invaded the company. While undocumented, it is likely Sarah died from one of these diseases. She is buried by the mountains in Rock Springs in Wyoming.
