Sarah Ann Andrews, is the eighth of nine children born to John Andrews and Elizabeth Wise, both of England. John and Elizabeth were married in 1838 in England.
The family immigrated to America with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon arrival in America, they joined the Isaac Bullock Company to trek west to the Great Salt Lake Valley.
Exhaustive travel conditions, disease, injury, lack of food and medicine, prematurity, and extreme weather were some of the greatest threats to pioneers. After they began their journey, began, cholera (a bacterial disease caused from contaminated water) invaded the camp, infected many of the Saints. While undocumented, it is assumed that 2-year-old Sarah Ann fell victim to the disease. She is buried along the trail in Nebraska.
