Rosina King is the youngest of three children born to George King and Maria Redding of England.

After crossing the ocean and arriving in America, the King family traveled to Nebraska and joined the Daniel McArthur Company. With other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Company left August 6, 1863 for the Great Salt Lake Valley.

Exhaustive travel conditions, disease, injury, lack of food and medicine, prematurity, and extreme weather were some of the greatest threats to pioneers. The company had traveled about two weeks, when Rosina succumbed to dysentery. She is buried near Wood River in Nebraska.
