NN Muller was born to Heinrich Muller and Regina Barbara Martin, Switzerland. The family emigrated from Switzerland to America with a desire to go with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to journey to the Great Salt Lake Valley. They joined the Israel Evans Company and departed on May 22, 1857.
When the company was near Florence Nebraska, near the Loup Fork, Regina gave birth to a baby who did not survive long. The baby was laid to rest along the Mormon Trail in Nebraska.
In Susan M. Witbeck autobiographical sketch, she records: “The first Sunday out we spent on the Elkhorn; the next, at Genoa, on the Loop [Loup] Fork. There the only baby was born to Brother [Heinrich] and Sister [Regina] Muller. It did not live long.”
In Griffith Roberts journal, it reads: “…a little Baby died about the same time who was born when we were stoping at Genoa City, or the "Beaver Settlement,"”.
