The Infant Lund is the child to Sister Lund. (There is no information as to who the parents were). Sister Lund is on the roster of the Allen Weeks Company, scheduled to journey with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Great Salt Lake Valley. They began the journey on July 13, 1852.
Exhaustive travel, disease, injury, lack of food and medicine, prematurity, and extreme weather were some of the greatest threats to pioneers. Sister Lund gave birth to a stillborn child who is buried somewhere along the Mormon Trail in Iowa.
From the diary of Evan M. Greene: “21 A fine pleasant morning Sister Lund was delivered of a child, it was stillborn.”
