Company records indicate that Lorenzo passed away August 4, the same day the Milo Andrus Company left Iowa to begin their journey. Three-year-old Lorenzo is buried in Iowa, somewhere on the Mormon Trail West.
A family journal reported that Lorenzo passed away from the measles. Between cholera, measles and other diseases, the company experienced numerous deaths along the trail.
