Leah Edwards was one of four children born to John Edwards of Wales and Eleanor Charlotte Waylett of England. The family crossed the Atlantic Ocean to America. They joined an “unknown company” to travel across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah.

In September, just days from reaching the Salt Lake Valley on September 12, 4-year-old Leah passed away. While her cause of death is infinitive, “mountain fever” had infected some of the company. They were so close to the Salt Lake Valley, arriving there on 12 September.

According to the company's notes, little Leah is buried near Simpson's Hollow in Wyoming.
