Joseph's Story
Birth: March 8th, 1854 | male | in Dallerup, Skanderborg, Denmark
Death: June 23rd, 1857 | 3 years old | Nebraska

Joseph's parents are Peder Anderson "Peter" Just and Karen Marie Christensen both of Denmark.
They crossed the ocean to America, after arriving there they joined the Christian Christiansen Company to journey with to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. The company left Iola on June 15.
Just two weeks into the journey little 3 year old Joseph passed away. There was no information found as to why he passed away.
Joseph Petersen is buried along the Mormon Trail, East of Council Bluffs, Nebraska
According to Soren Jacobsen's journal of the trip, he says:
“Tuesday, June 23, Broke camp and between 5 and 6:00 and kept on till 11 a.m. Rested till afternoon. Started and kept going till it began to rain and the road became so muddy we soon camped by some trees. At noon the child [Joseph] of Potto Justs [Peter Anderson Just] died and was buried.”
