After the Hutchison Family immigrated from Scotland to America, they joined the Richard Ballantyne Company in Iowa to journey west to the Salt Lake Valley. On July 20, 855, Agnes gave birth to their ninth child whom they named Joseph. Just 10 day later, their little Joseph died and is buried by the North Fork of the Platte River.

Joseph was their 9th child. He was born 20 July in 1855, but did not live long, he died 10 days later.
