John's Story

John's parents were Nathaniel Hunt Greer Sr. from Georgia, and Nancy Ann Terry Roberts from Virginia.
John was one of fourteen children. As a family, they all joined the Seth M. Blair / Edward Stevensons Company to come west to the Salt Lake Valley.
On the journey, from the very beginning, cholera made its way into the company and many Saints were infected.
John, his brother Ira and their father Nathaniel came down with cholera.
9 year old John passed away on the 23nd. His brother John passed away the day before John, on the 22rd, and their father passed away on the 24th.
John is buried in Kansas along the Mormon Trail ½ mile east of the Nimeha in Kansas.
