Johan Ludvig Sandin is the son of Lars Johansson Sandin and Johanna Louisa Carlsson of Sweden. There is no record of Johanna immigrating from Sweden. After Lars and their three children arrived in America, the family traveled by train to Wyoming, Nebraska and joined a company (unknown) to journey with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Utah Territory. They left August 5, and arrived in Salt Lake City on August 25, 1868.
While crossing through Wyoming, 1-year-old Johan passed away and buried along the Mormon Trail in Wyoming. The cause of death is unknown.
