James Horrax was the third child born to James Raymond Horrax and Catherine Daft both from England. The Horrax family traveled across the ocean from England and arrived in America. Along with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they joined the Ira Eldredge Company to travel to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. The company left Iowa on July 1.
On September 6, near Fort Bridger, Wyoming, little James passed away. Cause of death is unknown. One year old James is buried along the Mormon Trail West of Fort Bridger, Wyoming.
