James' Story
Birth: April 26th, 1855 | male | on the “Mongolo” Steamer on the Mississippi River
Death: July 12th, 1855 | Infant | in Nebraska

James’ parents were James Timbrell Worlton and Elizabeth Bourne, both from England.
On the journey from England, while going up the Mississippi River, James Cyrus was born.
From James Timbrell's journal:
“The name of the steamer was 'Mongolo.' On April 26th at 6 o'clock in the morning my baby boy was born.”
The family then joined the Richard Ballantyne Company to come west, they left Iowa July 1.
James Cyrus came down with mountain fever and passed away.
Little 3 month old James is buried by the Mormon Trail somewhere in Nebraska.
From James' father's history:
“The whole camp was struck with mountain fever and many died. I took the fever, the baby took it from me and died on July 13. I never will forget the day we laid our dear little boy away by the roadside and travelled on next morning.”
George Mayer journal from the journey west, he said:
“On the 12 of July J[ames] T[imbrell] Worlton's Child [James Cyrus Worlton] Dide [died.] I had it beried [buried] the Same Evning[.]”
