Inger Kathrine Jorgensen Plowman is the daughter of Jørgen Jacobsen Plougmann and Mette Marie Lauritzen, both from Denmark. Jorgen and Mette and their three children boarded the ship “Kenilworth” and sailed to America. After their arrival, they traveled to Nebraska joining the Peter Nebeker Company. On August 7, 1866, the company left for The Great Salt Lake Valley.

While still in Nebraska, baby Inger passed away and is buried along the Mormon Trail. (The cause of death is unknown
