Ida Johanna Laurenzia Sandin is the daughter of Lars Johansson Sandin and Johanna Louisa Carlsson of Sweden. There is no record of Johanna immigrating from Sweden. After Lars and their three children arrived in America, the family traveled by train to Wyoming, Nebraska and joined a company (unknown) to journey with other members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Utah Territory. They left August 5, and arrived in Salt Lake City on August 25, 1868.

Just after the Company arrived in Salt Lake City, 3-year-old Ida Johanna passed away. The Salt Lake Death Records indicates she passed away from “inflammation of the lungs.” Ida Johanna is buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
