Henry's Story
Birth: March 18th, 1836 | male | in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Henry’s parents were William Evans and Frances Russell, both of England. Henry was the third of nine children born into the family.
Henry's father William, passed away in 1846. His mother Frances and the family joined the church. She sent Henry and a daughter Ann to America so they could travel to the Salt Lake Valley, she planned to come later.
Henry and Ann joined the Appleton M. Harmon Company to come across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley.
After they had crossed the Missouri River on July 14th, Henry fell ill and passed away.
17 year old Henry is buried on the Mormon Trail in Nebraska.
In Cornelius Bagnall Emigrating Company journal said:
“Died at 1 o’clock PM Henry Evans of Bowel complaint 3 days illness[.] he was born Bristol, Rodcliff Parish Sommersetshire England March 14th 1836[.] he was buried in the evening at the camping ground at 7 o’clock.”
