Hans Peter’s parents are Rasmus Hansen and Ane Kirstine Pedersen both of Denmark.
Hans Peter was the fourth of five children that made the ocean journey with his parents. The Hansens came from Denmark to America and joined the Joseph Horne Company to come to the Salt Lake Valley. The company departed Nebraska on 27 July 1862.
Hans Peter was just five months old when he died the same day that the company was to leave Nebraska. No information was found as to why he passed away.
Hans Peter is buried in Florence, Nebraska on the Mormon Trail at the beginning of the journey west to the Salt Lake valley.
