Hannie's parents are Peder Borup Pedersen and Christine Christensdatter, both of Denmark.

Hannie was 5 years old when she came from Denmark to America. After relocating to America, Peder Borup Pedersen dropped the "Pedersen" and went by the name of Peter Borup.

The family joined the John Riggs Murdock Company and left on their journey west to the Salt lake Valley on July 4.

Sometime on their journey through Wyoming, little Hannie became ill and passed away. There was no record found of why she passed away nor of where the company was in traveling west. Somewhere on the Mormon Trail in Wyoming, little 5 year old Hannie was laid to rest.
