Hannah Mary’s parents are William Mitchell and Ann Andersen both from England.

They came from England to America to join with other Saints in traveling to the Salt Lake Valley.

While in Nebraska, Ann delivered their first child, a daughter Hannah Mary.

They joined the John Riggs Company for the journey west to Zion.They departed on July 24th.

Just three weeks later, little Hannah Mary passed away.

According to the company's journal, she is buried just west of the Elk Horn River in Nebraska along the Mormon Trail West.

Company journal:

“July 26 Crossed the Elk Horn River, Nooning in a pleasant place. Made about 15 miles. Child died & buried.”

Two weeks later, Ann passed away and is buried along the Mormon Trail also.
