George Knighton Flint is the son of William Flint and Georgeana Knighton, both from England.

Sometime between 1861 and 1864 the family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On May 21, 1864, they boarded the ship “General McClellan” sailing for America.

After reaching the Missouri River, they traveled to Wyoming, Nebraska where they joined the William S. Warren Company to travel to Salt Lake City. The company left Nebraska on July 21, 1864.

After traveling over the plains, the company arrived in Salt Lake City on October 4, 1864.

The family went to Northern Utah to live, in a town called Calls Fort.

It is here that 3-year-old George Knighton Flint passed away of unknown causes.
