Death: November 21st, 1862 | 1 year old | in Utah

Fredrick's parents are William John Nichols and Emma Crane. Both are from England.
The family traveled over the ocean on the Ship William Tapscott in 1862. They went to Nebraska and joined the Horton D. Haight Company to come to the Salt Lake Valley with other Saints. The company left Nebraska on August 10.
When the company was close to the Wyoming / Arizona border, little Fredrick passed away from “mountain fever”.
Emma didn't want to bury her son on the plains, so she may have wrapped him up and taken him the rest of the way into Salt Lake Valley. The company arrived in Salt Lake City on October 19.
It is in the Salt Lake City Burial records that little Frederick is buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
According to a Family Search memory for Emma, both she and Frederick died on the same day, November 21. He died of typhoid fever aged 1 one year, 8 months and 2 days old.
