Eunice College was the fourth of six children born to Eunice’s parents were Joseph Thomas Hames Colledge of England and Elizabeth Lewis of Wales. (Joseph changed his surname to that of his first wife, Eliza Colledge, to avoid inheritance problems in Wales after her death in 1845.)
After the Colledge Family emigrated from England to America, they joined the William Budge Company to travel to the Salt Lake Valley. The company left Iowa on July 20. Just two weeks into the journey, 8-year-old Eunice became ill and passed away. Her cause of death is unknown. She is buried at Elm Creek in Nebraska.
