Emma’s father was Daniel Willis Matthews Sr. and her mother Sarah Garner, both of England.
The Matthew family came from England and joined the Cyrus H. Wheelock Company for journeying across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. Her mother Sarah passed away somewhere near entering the Salt Lake Valley and is buried on the plains.
There is record in the company that Emma traveled with the Cyrus H. Wheelock Company. I could not find any information as to her death or burial.
Little 2 year old Emma is buried somewhere on the Mormon Trail West.
