Daniel's Story

Daniel’s parents are William Taylor and Mary Ann Dean from England.
The family boarded the ship “Arkwright” for passage to America. While on the ship, Mary Ann delivered their 12th child, a son they named Daniel Arkwright Taylor. He was Named after the ship they were sailing on. The family then went to Nebraska to join the Daniel Thompson Company to journey to the Utah Territory. The Company left Nebraska on July 24, 1866.
The company had only been traveling for about two weeks, when little Daniel Arkwright passed away.
Sadly the little six week old Daniel was laid to rest by the Platte River in Nebraska.
He is recorded in the Company’s journal under Saints who passed away on the journey west:
“Daniel Arkwright Taylor, infant, Aug. 4”.
